I think involvement in politics is important in life.. but politics is way more than this candidate or that election! It's knowing what the government does in detail, how laws interact with the economy, knowing WHY things are the way they are in society... politics almost always has something to do with this. I would hope that you'd be a curious person, whose done (or who thinks it ought to be done) a realistic assessment of what's going on in society.
